The QSCP XIX will be held in both Tamkang University (TKU), as well as the Fullon Hotel Tamsui Fishermen's Wharf , situated in Tamsui District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. It is easily accessible by bus and via the Red line of Taipei Metro subway system (a.k.a. MRT) from downtown Taipei.
Flying to Taiwan
Taipei Taoyuan International Airport (airport code: TPE)
can be accessed via over 190 non-stop and direct flights from 56 major cities throughout the world.
Less frequent flights also connect several capital cities in eastern Asia with the Taipei Songshan Airport (airport code: TSA), which locates inside Taipei City and is conveniently served by the Taipei Metro subway system.
The easiest ways to Tamkang University
Method 1: Taxi
The easiest way to reach Tamkang Universty from either TPE (Taoyuan) or TSA (Songshan) airports is to take a Taxi. Taxis are available right at the exit at the airport. The fare is ralatively low as compared to many other areas, about 30 € from TPE Taoyuan airport to TKU campus (surcharge included). From TSA Songshan Airport it costs about 12 € to TKU.
Note that in most taxi the payment is only accepted by cash in local currency (NTD).
Method 2: Limousine service
Limousine pickup at TPE airport can be booked directly with Easyrent.

Method 3: Public Transportation
If you travel with light luggage, and/or if you prefer to enjoy the advanture of public transportation, the easiest way is summarized below as well as in the Google Map, where official hotels are also marked.
To travel from TPE, where most of you must be from, a lot more details are explained in the following sections.
Participants should consult the Bureau of Consular Affairs’ (BOCA) website for information about visa requirements for entry into Taiwan. Citizens of the following countries may enter and remain in Taiwan without a visa for a maximum of 30 days: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Costa Rica, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, and USA.

Transport between Taipei Taoyuan International Airport (TPE)
and Taipei City
Taxis queue outside the Arrival Halls of both terminals. Airport Taxis charge according to the meter plus a 50% surcharge (highway tolls not included). Typical fare to downtown Taipei is around NT$1,100. Bus companies also provide frequent service between TPE International Airport and important destinations around Taipei everyday in every 30 to 40 minutes. Costs are approximately NT$110~140 (US$4~5), while taking about 60 to 90 minutes. The bus station is on the southwest side of the Arrival Passenger Reception Area in Terminal I, and on the northeast side of the Arrival Passenger Reception Area on the first floor in Terminal II. Many companies operate airport buses that link TPE airport to downtown Taipei City. Some of the routes are listed below:
Bus No. 1819 run by Kingbus (Kuo-Kuang Motor) offers service every 15-20 minutes between 05:40-01:30; after mid-night four services depart from TPE airport at 00:15, 00:30, 01:00 and 01:30. Single journey takes about 55 minutes and costs NT$125. The terminal stop in town is the east side of Taipei Main Station, the overlap station of Taiwan Railways (TRA), Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) and Taipei Metro (Red, Blue and Green lines).
Alternatively, you can choose to get off at the third stop “Taini Building (Mackay Memorial Hospital)” off the highway and transfer to Metro system nearby at “Shuanglian” station of the Red line that bounds north to Tamsui.
- Bus No. 5201 operated by Evergreen runs every 15-20 minutes from TPE airport between 06:00-00:30. You can get off at the stop “Mackay Memorial Hospital” and transfer to Metro system at “Shuanglian” station of the Red line that bounds north to Tamsui.
- Freego Bus No. 5502 has a looser schedule of every 40-60 minutes between 05:30-01:10. Preferred stop off the highway to transfer for Taipei Metro system is “Xingtian Temple” station of the Yellow line.
- CitiAir Bus No. 1960 brings passengers to the eastern Taipei City (near Taipei 101) every 30 minutes from TPE airport during 06:00-01:00, and the most convenient transfer to Metro is at “Zongxiao Fushing” station where the Brown and Blue lines intercross.
Transport from Taipei Songshan Airport (TSA) or Taipei City
to Tamsui District
Taipei Metro Brown line serves TSA airport with its canonical name “Shongshan Airport”. The Metro entrance is right outside the airport. Follow the Metro route map you will find “Tamsui” station at the northern end of Red line. From Metro “Tamsui” station, bus numbers R27, R28 and 756 take you directly into the conference venue inside Tamkang University (TKU) campus.
Access from Metro “Tamsui” station to Venue in TKU (Opening)PUBLIC BUS
Public bus routes R27 and R28 departing from the bus platform at right-hand side of Metro Tamsui exit 2 (see photo), as well as No. 756 which comes from Taipei Main Station and stops by at the booth on the opposite side of the street (in front of Mos Burger next to McDonalds, see photo), will deliver you directly to Tamkang University as the final stop within 10 minutes. A flat rate of NT$15 applies for all three lines.
Bus schedule and boarding sites:
R27: Weekday 06:40-23:30, runs every 4-12 minutes; Weekend/holidays 07:00-23:30, runs every 10-20 minutes.
R28: Scheduled departure, see the time table.
756: Operation 05:30-22:20, every 10-20 minutes on weekdays and every 20-30 minutes on weekends/holidays.
308: overlaps the 756 route in the section between Metro Tamsui and TKU, but only five runs per day.
PS. Do NOT ride 756 or 308 at Tamsui Metro exit 2, as it goes the reverse direction back to downtown Taipei City!
A map of walk (and also its snapshot) is provided if participants prefer to have an exercise of 1 kilometers between the exit 1 of Metro Tamsui station and TKU campus for a local atmosphere. Be informed that way to TKU is uphill and the shortcut contains steep stone stairs. Downhill experience in the evening is relatively pleasant as the passage finally joins the small alleys of the night market.
Tip: Change the language setting of Google Map by clicking the wheel icon at the right-bottom and the street names will be shown in English. Check the snapshot of the route map.
QSCP venue inside TKU are marked as 21 and 22 on the TKU campus map.
Opening ceremony will be held at Carrie Chang Music Hall 22, and the welcome reception is planned to be served at Ching-sheng Memorial Hall (T) 21.
Access from Metro “Tamsui” station to Venue in Fullon Hotel Fishermen's WharfBUS R26
Bus routes R26 (departs every 3~15 minutes) and No. 836 (scheduled departure on holidays) departing from the bus platform at right-hand side of Metro Tamsui exit 2 (see photo) take passengers to Fishermen's Wharf where Fullon Hotel is located as the final stop within 15 minutes. A flat rate of NT$15 applies for both lines.
For participiants who stay in See's Revert and Park City Hotel, they can either choose to first take MRT to Tamsui Station and then change for bus R26, or alternatively, take bus R23 close by their hotels. The final stop of R23 is also Fishermen's Wharf (upon request, use our transportation tags) but it travels through a relatively larger round and therefore, MRT+R26 would be a quicker option.

Also note that (1) Notify the bus driver of R23 that you are going to Fishermen's Wharf (using our transportation tags) upon getting on, otherwise the bus may not go futher into the Wharf, (2) No. 836 only serves on holidays.
